DANC 671 ProSeminar I: Collaborative Pedagogies In Practice

600 level graduate course

Designed to expand potentialities through direct interplay with communities and practioners (both local and international), students will learn about the possibilities of sharing resources, scholarship and fields of interest for future engagement. This course will set the ground-work for Field Study LABS. The course challenges students to examine where their practice intersects directly with the public realm and how they can create new sites and audiences for their work. What roles do dance artists play in the world today? Who and where is the audience? What does it mean to be a dance artist working today? How can dance artists work alongside a variety practitioners and professionals from varying disciplines to share and combine skills? A seminar format, this course will includes community partners, site visits and an in-class lecture series. By the end of the course, students will be expected to select a Field Study location.

Open only to MFA in Dance majors.
This course is not repeatable for credit.
