FAPR 141 - Freshman Screenprinting

An introduction and investigation of various stencil methods, based on three primary types of screen stencils, cut paper, blockout/resist, and photo emulsion, using water-based inks on both paper and fabric. Emphasis on the acquisition of personal expression and technical skills, within the capabilities of screen-printed opaque and transparent colors, and the use of editions in collaborative class image exchange. Additionally, the various media unique to printmaking are shown and discussed, to introduce the beginning student to the wide possibilities of expression inherent in printmaking. Formerly PR 102
