MAPH 341 - Critical Issues in Photography

Concentrated study of the concepts of photographic criticism. Extensive reading, writing, and discussion of contemporary photographic literature, exhibitions, and trends is required. The course is an in-depth examination of the photographic medium from an historical and critical viewpoint. The course requires field trips to galleries and museums, and attendance at visiting lecture events to place current trends in photography in a critical context. Formerly PF 415A
