An introduction to the history of women and to theories of gender. An interdisciplinary course combining history, literature, and the visual arts. Slide lectures on images of women in art, myth, and religions, from ancient times to modern. Economic and historical factors affecting how women have lived. Definitions of masculinity and femininity.
