FNDP 162 - Three-Dimensional Design

Building on the skills, language, and sensibilities of FNDP 161, the second semester undertakes more complex projects. Some projects often involve the combining of several materials and require the assembly of multiple parts. The semester builds in complexity, exploring the challenges of scale and engaging time and movement as part of their conception. The introduction of environmental works, setting in place new principles of three-dimensional organization, researching the order in nature and taking up the challenge of representation in three dimensions are some of the arenas in which students work. Faculty relate works and share principles with either the two dimensional, drawing, or time motion classes and attempt to harvest skills and sensibilities developed in those classes into the service of projects in Three-Dimensional Design.
