MUCP 333 - Arranging2 credits This course is designed to give students the knowledge and experience to write effective arrangements in various jazz and pop styles. Understanding of the instruments, terminology, idiomatic styles, forms, voicings, and notation techniques are covered. Students analyze professional scores as well as using aural analysis for those that are not available. There are writing assignments for ensembles including up to six horns with vocals.
Prerequisites MUSC*204 and MUSC*206
Priority enrollment to majors in the School of Music.
