Introduction

Arts and cultural experiences enrich and transform lives, and creativity and collaboration lead to innovation.  The Center for Engagement supports the mission of the University of the Arts by facilitating access to innovative educational opportunities and resources for a diverse population of learners of all ages; including credit and non-credit courses, workshops and certificate programs designed to anticipate and meet the changing professional, academic and lifelong learning needs of individuals in the greater Philadelphia region.  The Center for Engagement includes Continuing Education and Pre-College Programs.

The Continuing Education program represents the University’s long tradition of community outreach programming. For decades, we have offered a range of courses for lifelong learning, professional development, creative enrichment, personal exploration, career preparation and more. Our courses are designed to empower and nurture creative thinking and innovation across a variety of disciplines for a wide range of learners.  We are proud to continue this tradition today.

Pre-College Programs provide enrichment opportunities in visual, performing and writing for students in grades 1 – 12 by fostering exploration and guiding students to think creatively and work collaboratively.  Focusing on the personal development of each student in order to inspire a lifelong engagement with the arts, Pre-College Programs are dedicated to creating access to these programs and supports them with scholarships in order to reach students in and around the diverse Philadelphia community and the nation.
