Description

Design, Art + Technology (DAAT) provides students with a holistic, integrated investigation of digital media and contemporary culture. Majors hone both creative and technical skills by developing websites, dynamic web/mobile applications, virtual/physical computing environments, and motion-arts experiences. This program will prepare students to respond to rapidly evolving conditions in culture and technology, while ensuring that they have developed a strong multidisciplinary foundation.

Our BFA in Design, Art + Technology champions contemporary, professional imperatives: collaboration and creativity, exploration and risk-taking, research and analysis, synthesis and development. We provide students with progressive, systematic, interdisciplinary education.  Students combine practice and theory with skillful execution and experience in order to infuse technology with their creativity and imagination.

The program structure at UArts allows students to take a broad variety of courses in both seminar and studio formats, allowing for a customized educational experience. Students are encouraged to pursue liberal arts study in order to enhance their preparation as artists and designers. During their undergraduate years, many DAT students are able to complete multiple internships or work on freelance projects. We pride ourselves on providing real-world learning opportunities in order to fully develop well-rounded creative partners.
