DACP 263 Improvisation and Scores

College of Performing Arts School of Dance

300 level undergraduate course

This class continues to broaden improvisation solo practices and deepen the understanding of Contact Improvisation, while exploring challenging performance scores. Musings on structures, performances and automatic writing will be explored. By studying and dancing inside of improvisational scores students will learn to create their own scores. As the capstone project, each student will develop and direct an improvisation score. Journals will be kept as an important self-reflection element of the class.

Prerequisites DACP*164

Priority enrollment to majors in the School of Dance.
This course is not repeatable for credit.
