WFTV 146 Writing for the Screen

100 level undergraduate course

This writing course exposes students to the foundational principles of screenwriting applicable to the development of short, narrative film, and animation scripts. Storytelling strategies, structure, scene construction, action, conflict, and formatting, along with a review of character development fundamentals will be covered. Learned principles will be applied to feature-length screenplays and television pilots/episodes in more advanced courses.

Prerequisites WFTV*145

Priority Enrollment for Film, Screenwriting, and Film and Animation majors.
This course is not repeatable for credit.
This course can fulfill a critical studies elective or general elective requirement.
