THST 102 Acting Studio II



3 credits 67.5 hours
100 level undergraduate course

In this course, students begin to incorporate script analysis and compelling character objectives and actions into their work. Emphasis is placed on discovering character, objective and motivation through a synthesis of imagination, observation and a deepened curiosity about the human condition. Students refine their imaginative capacity and their ability to live truthfully under imaginary circumstances through a wide range of work for the stage, including improvisational exercises, etudes, compositions, and contemporary scripted material.

Prerequisites THST*101 or THST*120

Open to majors in the School of Theater only.
This course is not repeatable for credit.
This course requires permission by the offering program office.
