WFTV 10007 Development & Story Analysis

This class will focus on the development phase of writing your project. You’ll begin to put your ideas together through exercises, writing a treatment, creating character biographies, learning how to outline your story, and even pitching your project. Mornings will focus on lectures and activities on worldbuilding, differences in writing for TV and film, scene construction, and enhancing dialogue. This class will also include a deep dive into story analysis and the class will screen and read various films and pilots to learn how visual storytelling on screen is essential and how dramatic momentum is built with cause and effect. Afternoon sessions will revolve around writing and workshopping your project with your peers.
