CMMC 351 - History of Documentary Introduces the historical and aesthetic sweep of approaches to documentary film and video. Through extensive screenings and readings, this survey opens the range of choices and creative possibilities for documentary while understanding aesthetic conventions, technological limitations, and social history. In addition to attending screenings and discussion, students write two short papers and one longer term paper. Formerly CM 293
