Description

Literacy is the fundamental skill upon which the success of our students and schools depends.  Educators across all grades and content areas are in some way responsible for literacy instruction.  Literacy in today’s classroom encompasses visual and digital skills needed for successful reading, writing, speaking, and listening.  Today’s classroom bears witness to wide variation in instructional strategies and assessment practices.  Art forms ranging from photography to dance, music to sculpture, embody those teachable moments for students as they learn to read, write, speak, and listen.

Our Graduate Certificate in Literacy is designed for in-service teachers.  Courses may also fulfill requirements within the MEd in Educational Program Design.
