Description

The Summer Music Studies program offers graduate-level coursework for expanding students’ pedagogical, technological, musical, and instructional skills in all genres of music classrooms. Renowned faculty from UArts and content experts from across the country provide week-long graduate-level instruction in making and creating meaningful music. Courses are offered on multiple campuses.

Program Objectives

Students completing graduate level courses through The University of the Arts Summer Music Studies program will:

  • Apply pedagogical knowledge to employ effective curriculum, instruction and assessment strategies in the music classroom.

  • Utilize technology in diverse ways to engage and support student learning in the music classroom.

  • Communicate and collaborate with peers from diverse school communities in multiple music content areas.

  • Apply differentiated instructional strategies as creative and innovative musicians.

  • Understand diverse cultural, community, and learning styles of 21st century students in the music classroom.
