Digital Fine Arts Concentration


This concentration is designed for students grounded in traditional two- and three-dimensional art and design principles, who wish to incorporate digital tools and technology to create highly personalized artistic statements. While conceptually and procedurally digitally-based, the Digital Fine Arts concentration provides for physical output in two-, three-, and four-dimensional realms, as well as combined formats. Working closely with advisors, the student selects 15 credits from categories I and II, with a 6-credit minimum in each category.

  • Students must meet eligibility requirements, which may include a satisfactory grade point average, prerequisites, and departmental portfolio review.
  • Intent to complete a concentration is declared by filing the completed Declaration Form with the Office of the Registrar. The forms are available in the Office of the Registrar.
  • Courses applied to the concentration may only be applied towards elective requirements.
  • Generally, no substitutions to the concentration requirements are allowed. The concentration advisor may permit a substitution in exceptional situations.
  • The requirements of the concentration must be completed prior to graduation.
  • Completing a concentration may require a student to take more than the minimum number of credits necessary to achieve the undergraduate degree in order to also finish the concentration. A student pursuing a concentration may be required to complete more than the minimum number of credits required to complete the undergraduate degree in order to also complete the concentration.
  • This concentration is only available to undergraduate students.
