Business, Entrepreneurship, and Technology in Music (BET) Minor

Students enrolled in the minor will learn to create, produce, record, edit, manipulate, and distribute audio and music for traditional and new media. These skills will be acquired through specialized coursework, hands-on training, and field experiences. Study areas include audio recording, production, live sound, entrepreneurship, marketing law, and business management.
- Students from all majors at the University may seek to enter the BET Minor. For information about perquisites and expectations, see the School of Music office.
- Intent to complete a minor is declared by filing the completed Minor Declaration Form with the Office of the Registrar. The forms are available in the Office of the Registrar.
- Courses applied to the minor may only be applied towards elective requirements.
- Generally, no substitutions to the minor requirements are allowed. The minor advisor may permit a substitution in exceptional situations.
- The requirements of the minor must be completed prior to graduation.
- Completing a minor may require a student to take more than the minimum number of credits necessary to achieve the undergraduate degree in order to also finish the concentration.
- Minors are available only to undergraduate students.
