IDES 432 - Design Practice Seminar Exposes the student to industrial design professional practice through discussion, lectures, and research. The following subjects are addressed: 1.)Running a practice 2.) Legalities and contracts 3.) Publications/exhibitions 4.)Client interaction 5.) Job search, recruiters and directories 6.) Networking (etiquette and strategy) 7.) Work structure (internship, freelance, in-house etc.). Visitors and field trips represent a broad spectrum of the design community including design shop owners, design curators from galleries or museums, industrial design entrepreneurs, and copyright lawyers. Open to Industrial Design majors only.
